My
Tanks
Ten
Gallon A
This is the one that started it all. A ten gallon regular dimension
aquarium. It was a Marineland kit with a Biowheel filter. The hood came
with screw-on incandescents, and I replaced those with "Daylight"
compact fluorescents. I've changed a lot with this tank over the course
of its life. For a long time it was a planted tank, but now it's a puffer
system with synthetic coral and plastic sea algaes, but that could change
at any time, given this system's history of evolution.
Ten
Gallon B
My second aquarium, originally bought to fill in the void my iron tank
stand which holds up tank A. The stand came with two places for tanks,
one at the top and one at ankle level. I started this tank originally
designed for bala sharks, but I quickly learned they get too big. Update
3/27/05: this tank is now a nano reef.
Fifty-Five
Gallon
I keep a black ghost knife, bala sharks, a pleco, and a couple other
large fish in this living room tank. I use two Whisper 60 filters which
are cleaned often due to the high bioload and waste production. Read
about keeping large fish in 55 gallon tanks and watch me ramble about
fish gurus and other nay-sayers. You'll also learn how this tank damn
near defeated me when I first set it up.
The
Frog Tank
A custom designed 5 gallon system that's totally round. This tank was
made with frogs in mind. Update: This tank was junked and the
frogs now live in the Eclipse below.
Three
Gallon Eclipse
This tank holds guppies and a fiddler crab. The beauty of small tanks
is you can keep them anywhere. I keep mine in the bathroom atop the
toilet.
The
Planted Vase
A fully planted glass vase. Learn how you can set one up too.
